      <image:title>Blog - Insta Love</image:title>
<image:caption>This weekend was all crazy summer stormy and I spent it doing some serious online surfing instead of enjoying the beach like I'd planned. Here's four ladies that I never get tired of following on Instagram and will definitely brighten any day. Starting from left to right this is Lauren Hill @theseakin shes always posting about her surf travels and has some really thought provoking things to say about life as a female surfer. Shes always been a great read that makes me smile. @almostmakesperfect is a DIY and lifestyle blogger named Molly Madfis, I've been following her for a few years now. Shes got great crafty things to try! Next on my list is Liz Clark @captainlizclark she lives on a sailboat with her kitty Tropicat, sailing all over the world, just the two of them! Shes an amazing adventuress and surfs boards by my favorite shaper Jake Moss! @surfsyster is a Swedish surfer named Angelica Franzen. She lives not far from Vanersborg where I went to middleschool! I love seeing her cold water surf sessions, makes me want to take a surf trip to Sweden! I hope you guys enjoy checking out these ladies as much as I love following their adventures online!</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - 8-8-2013 Puerto Rico</image:title>
<image:caption>Stephen and I just came back from Puerto Rico, well we've been back for a couple weeks but it feels like it went by so fast! And actually it did. We were only there for something like 3 1/2 days. We hit some bad weather while flying in and so the rain ultimately ended up claiming one of our travel days. We had flown in to attend our friends wedding and were hoping to squeeze in some vacation too. I'll tell you what though I'm kinda glad we lost time to the rain because it made me realize you cant "squeeze in" time with your loved ones. Once I got back I spent some time reevaluating my schedule and changing a few things to allow for more time with Stephen and most importantly more time for myself with Stephen. This weekend is our anniversary and with my new lesson at my side I spent all week saying "No" to all sorts of things so that even if we loose some time "to the rain" I'm not trying to squeeze anything in.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Staycation 8-23-2013</image:title>
<image:caption>Weekend before last was our two year wedding anniversary! Lately our life has been jam packed with adventures and to do lists so we decided to go on vacation for the weekend without going anywhere! Here's how our first L.A Staycation was born. When I got back from Costa Rica and moved in with Stephen in 2010 it was hard adjusting to the idea that life no longer revolved around a morning and sunset surf session. My priorities shifted and the day to day of city living took precedent. By Nov of 2010 even armed with a killer wetsuit, my first purchase when I got stateside, it was hard to rally to make the 3 hour trip to surf and I quickly found I'd been out of the water for much longer than I care to admit. When I received the December issue of Surfer magazine Brad Melekians article "In defense of going nowhere" spoke to me and certainly cooled the longing to return to my Costa state of mind. His closing mantra that "sometimes you think you need a surf trip, but what you really need is to surf. To just surf. Sometimes you just need to go nowhere, and to do it well." Really hit home! So I pasted it to the the fridge and there its stayed for the last 3 years!! A daily reminder that "you don’t need to go anywhere to get what you’re after." Friday was dinner at Sonnys Hideaway, Casbah cafe and to see the National at the Greek Saturday, Coffee at Proof Bakery Sunday morning and a picnic at Echo Park Lake in the afternoon. Although our staycation didn't involve surfing, we did adventure all over town and certainly didn't stop saying "we're on vacation" till the end of the weekend! It felt so good to just drop everything and indulge in an everything can wait attitude that I'm already planning Staycation #2! If you are interested in reading the inspiration for our first Staycation you can find the article here. "In defense of going nowhere", Brad Melekain, Surfer Magazine November 2010.</image:caption>
