This weekend was all crazy summer stormy and I spent it doing some serious online surfing instead of enjoying the beach like I'd planned. Here's four ladies that I never get tired of following on Instagram and will definitely brighten any day.

Starting from left to right this is Lauren Hill @theseakin shes always posting about her surf travels and has some really thought provoking things to say about life as a female surfer. Shes always been a great read that makes me smile. @almostmakesperfect is a DIY and lifestyle blogger named Molly Madfis, I've been following her for a few years now. Shes got great crafty things to try! Next on my list is Liz Clark @captainlizclark she lives on a sailboat with her kitty Tropicat, sailing all over the world, just the two of them! Shes an amazing adventuress and surfs boards by my favorite shaper Jake Moss! @surfsyster is a Swedish surfer named Angelica Franzen. She lives not far from Vanersborg where I went to middleschool! I love seeing her cold water surf sessions, makes me want to take a surf trip to Sweden!

I hope you guys enjoy checking out these ladies as much as I love following their adventures online!

Surf Trip Basics 2

January 20, 2015 Elizabeth Gist

I'm super excited about my upcoming trip to Costa Rica in February!! So Excited I've even started pre packing. Yup I've laid out my essential items already! I there are a couple things that are definite surf trip basics I still need to buy.

  1. You must have a fun, flirty, short dress for dancing in. It's an essential item! You never know what kind of adventures you might get invited to so it's always good to be prepared. Shopping for the tropics while it's still cold out is super fun AND most things are on sale! This one from Swell is an extra 30% off the sale price!
  2. It's always a good idea to pack a small bag for beach excursions, grocery shopping and adventuring! I once took a last minute weekend trip from Costa Rica to Nicaragua and ended up using my purse as a weekender, just beacuse I didn't pack a smaller bag.  This one from ECOBAGS folds up small but also expands to hold up to 40lbs.
  3. My now not so secret surf spot in Costa Rica doesn't have street lamps. A lot of places in Central America don't have street lamps so it's important to pack a flashlight. This one from SplashFlash is waterproof and small enough to clip to your purse. Perfect for checking under your bed for scorpions too!

Now back to trying on my new bikinis!
